We're incredibly proud to share that our founder and lead technician, Liam, has been recognised as the Runner-Up for Pest Technician of the Year 2026 by Professional Pest Manager magazine.
The award was announced during Agserv's Pestech 2026, one of Australia's leading industry roadshow events for pest management professionals.
For us, this recognition carries special significance. Receiving national industry recognition within just our second year of operating LB Pest Management is something we never expected so early in our journey. As a locally owned, family-run business, we've spent the past two years focused on building a reputation for honest advice, quality workmanship, and genuine customer care. To have those values recognised by our industry is something we're incredibly grateful for.
What is the Pest Technician of the Year Award?
Each year, Professional Pest Manager magazine recognises technicians who demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge, professionalism, customer service, and commitment to the pest management industry.
The award isn't based on popularity or how many jobs someone completes. It recognises technicians who consistently uphold high industry standards, continue developing their knowledge, and make a positive contribution to both their customers and the profession.
To be named runner-up amongst technicians from across Australia is an honour that reflects years of dedication to the trade.
What This Recognition Means to Us
Awards are never the reason we do what we do.
From day one, our goal has been to provide honest advice, practical solutions, and high-quality workmanship—treating every property with care, as if it were our own. We believe in taking the time to explain what's happening, recommending the right solution for the situation, and never cutting corners.
One piece of feedback from the judging panel has stayed with us. They said they couldn't identify anything they felt Liam needed to improve technically—the only thing they believed would come with time was experience.
We genuinely appreciated that feedback because it's a reminder that experience is something earned over years in the field. Every termite inspection, every treatment, every challenging job and every conversation with a customer contributes to becoming a better technician.
This recognition tells us we're on the right path, while reminding us that there's always something for us beyond the horizon.
A Commitment to the Future of Pest Management
One of the things Liam enjoys most about the pest management industry is that there's always something new to learn. Whether it's understanding emerging pest behaviours, keeping up with new treatment methods or technologies, or refining existing techniques, continuing professional development is an important part of providing the best possible service.
The industry itself is also at an important point. Many highly experienced pest technicians who have shaped the profession over the past several decades are approaching retirement, while relatively few younger people are entering the industry. Passing on knowledge and maintaining high professional standards will be essential for the future of pest management in Australia.
Liam has been fortunate to learn from experienced technicians throughout his career, and he's grateful for the knowledge they've shared. Recognition like this isn't seen as the end goal—it's encouragement to keep learning, keep improving, and continue building on the experience that only comes with time.
Events such as Agserv's yearly Pestech roadshow play an important role in bringing the industry together to share ideas, discuss emerging challenges, and help raise standards across the profession.

Thank You
We're incredibly thankful to everyone who has supported LB Pest Management over the past two years.
To our customers—thank you for trusting us with your homes and businesses, recommending us to your family and friends, and supporting a small local business. Your confidence in us has helped make achievements like this possible.
We're also grateful to our suppliers, mentors, industry peers, and everyone who has shared their knowledge and encouragement along the way.
A special thank you goes to Holly for everything she does behind the scenes at LB Pest Management, and to our families for their encouragement and support throughout the journey.
Finally, congratulations to all of this year's finalists and to the overall winner. It's a privilege to be recognised alongside so many dedicated professionals who are helping raise the standard of pest management across Australia.
Looking Ahead
While we're incredibly proud of this achievement, we see it as motivation rather than a finish line.
We'll continue investing in training, staying up to date with industry developments, and delivering the honest, reliable service our customers have come to expect.
Being recognised as Runner-Up Pest Technician of the Year 2026 is a milestone we'll always be proud of. But the recognition that matters most is the trust our customers place in us every day, and we'll continue working hard to earn that trust on every job.
